We’re getting closer to release of The Failed Technomancer!
I was a little delayed in getting my finalized manuscript to my editor—about two weeks delayed—in early February. So if I don’t get the final .epub and .pdf documents this week, that’s on me. But, we’re looking very close to an ebook, print, and audiobook release!
If you want to get a taste of what The Failed Technomancer is like, check out some sample chapters I posted a few weeks ago.
So that’s The Failed Technomancer. What’s next?
Inner Demon
It’s official! Saturday, February 18th, I sent Inner Demon into my editor for another round of edits. The story and characters are developing extremely well—Gnyphe’s (pronounced KNIFE’s) emotional tearing between rediscovering her stolen past and rescuing a lost friend gets more powerful with each pass.
Inner Demon will also be the first book in an extended universe that I call Third realm, and I’m really looking forward to kicking that off! The city of Chapelport and the land of Karna have a ton of secrets to explore and interesting characters to follow.
“I’ll Do It Myself…”
I purchased Vellum!
If you didn’t know, Vellum is a powerful program that self-published authors use to format their books and create .epub and .pdf files (for ebook and print). I’m going to be able to use this program to format future books myself without sacrificing on quality at all. I’ll also be able to more easily and directly make updates myself, such as making sure that links in the ebook versions of each book stays current.
Note that I would still highly recommend LooseLeaf’s formatting team, or just getting a professional formatter in general if you have the budget and don’t want to format the book yourself. (LooseLeaf did The Failed Technomancer, and it looks so good! They also did great market research to make sure the look of the formatting fit genre expectations—research I’m going to need to start doing myself—and the results are top-notch.) Deciding to format future books myself was just the best decision for me. This way I have much more direct control over the creation and updating of my .epubs and .pdfs, I can more easily customize different versions of the ebook and print books to different vendors (Amazon, Apple Books, Kobo, and so forth), and it saves me a lot of money.
Conclusion
I just want to note that I leave a lot of links to things that I reference just because I like links and I like to make it easier for people to follow things if they have interest. No one has sponsored anything on this blog.
Hopefully next week I can share a bunch of links for The Failed Technomancer! On all platforms that allow a price of “free” the book will begin as free-to-download for a time.
