2023-08-28—Free Reading

Hello, friends! I hope your respective weeks were wonderful.

I’m spending the week with family and trying to be much briefer than usual this morning, so let’s just jump into things.

Website Updates

A few people discovered this already, but over the weekend I updated the sidebar:

As I post free things to read, it’s all going in that link. Go check it out! Right now, I’m posting chapters of The Failed Technomancer—one a week, but you can purchase the book if you decide you don’t want to wait for the next chapter(s). I don’t plan on leaving any chapters of this book out of the free reading, though, so you’re not going to miss anything if your preferred practice is patience.

Writing Updates

I’m at about 3251 words in The Betrayed Technomancer! That’s a sizable jump from last week’s 1700, but not very close to my dream goal of about 7000. (I used to shoot for at least 1000 words a day, but with work and the baby pushing my average writing time to about 30 minutes a day, that’s become unrealistic.)

Currently, the prologue is finished—the prologue zooms in on Zed and gives some insight on where the mad rozie came from and why he is the way he is. Then chapter 1 begins with 64Bit praying, and through that chapter we get a little recap on what’s happened in the month since the last book ended.

As for Inner Demon, that book is still in the slush pile over at Baen.

Send-Off

And that’s about it. Short and simple this week, unlike the past few. Have a great week!
